SLO-mo rockers NewDad formed during a lunchbreak at school in Galway.

Singer Julie Dawson recalled: "Hardly anyone else at school had instruments and we thought: 'Why not make a go of it?'

"We also formed partly because the four of us needed to do something for the practical part of our music exam!

"I think we'll always have that casual attitude - it's still fun and I don't think we'll ever take ourselves too seriously."

DO NOTHING

PREVIOUSLY an arty band, Nottingham pop-funksters Do Nothing hit gold when they made their single LeBron James, named after the basketball great.

"The song isn't really about LeBron James at all and I'd be embarrassed if he heard it!

"I wouldn't like it if he thought we were being mean about him."

FROM Dua Lipa's songwriter to former hospital cleaners via failed footballers, these are the 12 names you need to start learning now. Their music ranges from attitude pop to emotional soul and rap-rock. They are all set for a stellar 2021.
