Diagnostics company OPTI Medical Systems Inc reported on Thursday the receipt of the US Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for the OPTI SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR laboratory test kit for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 upon validation by the Institut Pasteur of France.
The company added that the OPTI SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR test kit is based on real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), which provides detection of the viral RNA in the sample.
