Plans for upmarket city bar and restaurant

The city centre venue is set to be named Twenty Twenty after their intention to sell 20" pizzas and 20 cocktails.

A licensing application lodged with Newcastle City Council says the bar "is not a student venue" and will be aimed at customers "who are prepared to pay for quality and wait for the production of bespoke drinks".

The applicant, Twenty Twenty Bars Ltd, said the intention is to be "child friendly" during the day, with family events including pizza tots toddler sessions to be held in the basement.

The licensing documents say: "The name of the premises comes from their intention to offer a core range of 20" pizzas and 20 cocktails.

"The pizza range is important to the concept and its New York Loft Art Gallery style.

"The range of 20 cocktails comprises classics, modern inventions and some of the premises' own design.

"The premises will offer a range of continental and quality bottled and canned beers, lagers and ciders, with a focus on craft and small brewery short runs.

There will be a good range of spirits, based around the ingredient lists for a small range of cocktails, as well as a range of vodkas and gins."

The application says the venue will trade differently at different times of day.

It says: "Through the day the premises will cater to shoppers, tourists and office workers.

"Up until 7pm the intention is to be child and dog friendly and to be a venue families will be happy to go to, including 'make your own pizza' for the kids' menu...
