Police make appeal after 'machete' attack at club

On Sunday, May 22, a weapon believed to be a machete or meat cleaver was used in an attack at Cleopatra's Lounge in Kirkgate during the early hours of the morning. A 22-year-old club-goer was rushed to hospital with injuries to his head and hands

The victim was reportedly standing outside the venue when he was approached by a man who is said to have the knife between 5.40 and 5.45am. He later fled inside the premises but was pursued by the man, who allegedly attacked him before fleeing the premises in a car. On May 31, armed police were seen in Brown Royd Avenue in Rawthorpe and a man was arrested in connection with the incident. As of June 16, three men have been arrested aged between 28 to 37, and since released on bail pending continuing enquiries. West Yorkshire Police have released photos of four men in connection with incident. Kirklees CID are asking anyone with information regarding 19-year-old Mitan Ibrahim 19, Nechirvan Ibrahim, 31, and Marvan Ibrahim, 29, to come forward.
