Public to have say on Trafalgar plinth

The landmark, which was built in 1841 but remained empty due to a lack of funds, has been home to a rolling commission of public artworks for the past two decades.

Six works have gone on display at the National Gallery.

The public are invited to have their say online, with the response informing the decision of the commissioning group who will ultimately choose the two winning sculptures in late June.

They include Improntas by Mexican conceptual artist Teresa Margolles which features casts of the faces of trans people, arranged around the plinth in the shape of a Tzompantli, a skull rack from Mesoamerican civilisations.
