A breakthrough Cheltenham festival success was achieved when Belfast Banter cut through the County Hurdle field under stable jockey Kevin Sexton, and less than a month later the pair provided Fahey with his first Grade 1 success when bolting up

in the two-mile novice hurdle at Aintree.

Belfast Banter has recently been sold to continue his career in America but Fahey, who has already sent out 16 winners this season - one more than last term - believes he has a yard bedecked with talent for the winter months.

The trainer said: "The past year has been unreal. To get our first Cheltenham winner and our first Grade 1 within the space of a

month was unbelievable really. We just have a better quality horse and I've never been as excited about the bunch of horses we've built up."

He added: "Usually around this time of year we're praying for the rain to stay away, but now we're the opposite. We can't wait for rain. We've never had a bunch of winter horses like this before."

Ambitious Fellow 5g Fame And Glory - Native Beauty I thought he was impressive in winning his bumper at Fairyhouse. He was bought to be sold and we brought him to the sales after Fairyhouse but we weren't getting enough for him so we brought him home. In hindsight he

should never have run over hurdles at Clonmel last month as it was a bit soon after being over at the sales. He didn't jump great that day but he jumps well at home and the plan is to get a run or two into him before the auction series final at Punchestown in the spring.

Artemis Angel 4f Fame And Glory - Kilbarry Demon She is a half-sister to Journey With Me and she does everything right. She has been to a couple of schooling races and we really like the way she is going. We'll run her in a bumper somewhere after Christmas on a bit of nice ground. She's owned by the Winning Ways Syndicate, who we have had a lot of luck with, and she's one we're looking forward to.

Battling Bessie 4f Helmet - Batiste Basil Houlihan bought her off Jarlath [Fahey] after she won her bumper at Cork. We were h ill d i h h fi f h h

thrilled with her first run for us when she finished third in a Listed mares' bumper at Navan and the plan is to go back to Navan in the middle of December if the ground is on the

slower side and we'll take on the geldings in another Listed bumper. I just want to get another run into her before we go for those good mares' bumpers in the new year and

Navan will tell us more about her but she works really well at home and we like her a lot.

Born Patriot 5g Born To Sea - Persian Patriot I was delighted with his run in the Pertemps qualifier at Cheltenham in October and the plan is to go back for the final in March. He finished out his race very well at...
