VINcENt Kompany says it will not be 'the end of the world' if Burnley are relegated from the Premier League this season

the clarets are six points from safety with seven games remaining and face Everton in a relegation crunch clash at Goodison Park today.

Kompany, who guided the club back to the top flight at the first attempt last season, told a press conference: "I might be a little bit different in this, but everybody has this habit of thinking everything stops after this next seven games.

"After these seven games, it's not like we go sit on a beach and never come back, it's a continuation.

"What I'm trying to say is, everything that lies ahead is all that matters and for us is to show the confidence to go into every single game we have left this season and after this season.

"It's really important that the mindset goes past, 'we've had a setback and that's the end of the world'. I don't function that way."

Burnley are unbeaten in four matches, but after tuesday night's home 1-1 draw against Wolves the gap between the clarets and safety increased from four to six points.

"Frustration is on the day of the game, maybe," Kompany said. "Day after, no chance. Move on, it's done.
