Injuries and the pandemic have delayed the Wigan featherweight's octagon return.

But he is now targeting his second UFC win when he takes on Nik Lentz on January 16 at Abu Dhabi's 'Fight Island', before rushing home for the birth of his second son.

Grundy, who won a bronze medal for freestyle wrestling at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, already has one offspring looking to follow in his footsteps. Jack, 15, is an accomplished amateur wrestler and now his dad is looking forward to seeing an addition to the family.

He said: "I have another boy due in early February or the end of January.

"After that, I just want to get cracking straight away with my career and start climbing the rankings.

"Jack is probably better than me at wrestling and MMA than when I was his age - he is definitely a talent." Having enjoyed a spectacular winning debut over Nad Narimani at the O2 Arena last March, Grundy suffered a points defeat and a broken jaw against Movsar Evloev in July.
