THE POLICE JOURNAL
JUSTICE
IN
MAGISTRATES'
COURTS.
By
Frank
J. Powell. Sir Isaac
Pitman
&Sons
Ltd.
Price 16s.
Mr.
Frank
Powell is well known as a metropolitan magistrate
and
an active
member
of
the
Magistrates' Association. His new book on the work of a magistrates'
court is
intended
primarily for
the
assistance of justices of
the
peace,
but
it is the
sort
of book
that
can
with
advantage be read by anyone whose duties require their
attendance at court.
The
chapter
on the Magistrate
and
the Police will be of particular
interest to police officers, as will the section on bail.
This
is a good introduction to
court
work,
better
than
the average book of its type,
and
is well
worth
its cost.
