In 1968 my mother gave me a signet ring for my 21st birthday, it must have cost a lot of money for her then

I lost it in a Seagrave strawberry field in July that year and I was distraught and we searched for ages without success.

My hands were wet with early morning dew and it must have just slipped off while picking the strawberries. Fast forward 54 years and I had a call from Peter Lovett who still lived at the property to say a ring had been found.
