Schnitzer Acquires Operating Assets of Encore Recycling to Expand in Southeast.

Oregon, US-based recycled metals manufacturer Schnitzer Steel Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCHN) has purchased the operating assets of Atlanta-based Encore Recycling LLC to provide additional products, services, and logistics solutions to customers and suppliers across the Southeast, the company said.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The acquisition encompasses two full-service recycling facilities, including a metal shredding operation and recycled auto-parts centre.
Encore purchases and processes end-of-life vehicles, appliances, and additional ferrous and nonferrous materials from local recycling companies and industrial, commercial, and individual customers.
