ARGENTINA
Under
the
auspices
of
the
Provincial
Govern-
ment
and
the
Federal
Investments
Centre,
the
Planning
Studies
Centre
of
the
National
University
of
the
Litoral
has
decided
to
organize
a
training
course
in
General
Admin-
istration.
The
purpose
of
the
course
is
to
provide
middle
and
higher
grade
civil
servants
in
regional,
provincial,
or
municipal
government
service
and
university
students
with
an
op-
portunity
to
brush
up
and
extend
their
know-
ledge
of
the
subject.
The
programme
will
include
Administration,
Administrative
Reform,
Public
Administra-
tion,
and
Management
Control.
Future
courses
on
Project
Preparation,
Evaluation,
and
Control;
Provincial
Financial
Administration;
and
Budgeting
are
contem-
plated.

The
National
Institute
of
Public
Administra-
tion
(INAP)
has
been
established
by
an
Act
of 22
February
1973.
The
Institute’s
task
will
be
to
organize
and
direct
Public
Service
training
programmes,
and
to
carry
out
studies
and
research.
BOLIVIA
The
Higher
Institute
of
Public
Administra-
tion
has
organized
a
national
course
on
Project
Formulation
and
Administration
in
coopera-
tion
with
the
Interamerican
Centre
for
Training
in
Public
Administration
attached
to
the
Organization
of
American
States.
The
Institute
for
the
Integration
of
Latin
America
(INTAL)
was
represented
by
a
staff,
member
who
gave
lessons
on
the
background
of
Latin
American
integration
and
the
Latin
American
Free
Trade
Association
(LAFTA),
the
Montevideo
Treaty,
LAFTA -
evaluation
and
prospects,
the
background
of
the
Andean
Pact,
the
Cartagena
Agreement,
the
develop-
ment
and
prospects
of
the
Andean
Pact,
and
development
and
prospects
of
the
Plata
Basin
Treaty.
BRAZIL
The
recently
established
Alumni
Association
of
the
Brazilian
School
of
Public
Administra-
tion
(EBAP)
has
prepared
various
programmes
of
work
including
professional
training,
the
exchange
of
information,
and
the
organization
of
conferences.
The
Association
also
intends
to
prepare
refresher
courses
for
personnel
development
and
for
improving
its
members’
abilities.
For
the
purpose,
a
series
of
lectures
will
be
given
on
Brazilian
administrative
conditions,
in
which
current
problems
of
public
administration
and
management
will
be
examined.
Mr.
Kleber
Nascimento,
Director
of
EBAP,
is
also
President
of
the
Alumni
Association.
NIGER
A
Higher
General
Administration
Section,
which
was
established
by
a
Decree
of
26
Feb-
ruary
1970,
started
work
in
the
National
School
of
Administration
on
30
October
1972.
It
has
two
purposes.
One
is
to
train
admin-
istrative
officers
at
home
rather
than
abroad
and
to
bring
them
into
direct
contact
with
problems
and
conditions
in
their
country.
The
other
is
to
provide
them
with
general
training
so
that
they
can
effectively
and
competently
perform
general
administration,
fiscal
administration,
or
development
admin-
istration
duties.
The
four-year
programme
comprising
30
weeks
per
annum
is
open
to
candidates
who
have been
successful
in
either
of
two
compe-
titive
examinations.
One
is
open
to
those
who
have
passed
a
university
entrance
examina-
tion,
and
the
other
to
civil
servants
with
four
years’
experience
in
the
higher
grades
of
Category
B.
The
age
limits
are
18
and
30
years
for
the
first
examination
and
40
for
the
second.
