Sharks win secures Nix's best BBL finish

CHESHIRE Phoenix carried on their exhilarating away form by dismantling play-off rivals Sheffield Sharks away from home

The win has carried the Phoenix to their best finish to a British Basketball season, finishing as second seed.

Cheshire's best finish previous to this season as the Phoenix franchise was in 2016 when they accomplished third. Though in their Chester Jets in carnation they reached top spot in 2002.

With a record of 23-11, the Nix have defied the odds are shown the league that. They are a force to be reckoned with, and with a game still to go this season it could be a staggering 24 wins in the campaign.

Shooting at an impressive 57% as a team, the Phoenix players played out of their skin, however, point guard Laquincy Rideau and captain Maceo Jack stood just that bit taller to the rest.

Rideau claimed his second league triple double, with 14 assists, 11 points and 11 rebounds, the first person to do so in the British Basketball league since Donte Nicholas in the 201819 season. While Jack dropped 31 points, shooting an incredible 90% from the field and an unbelievable 88% from three.

Jack is the first player in the league to score 30+ at 90% this season and the first Phoenix player to do so since Kinu Rochford dropped 30 in December 2015.

A nice three from Skyler white started Cheshire off, however they couldn't stop the Sheffield offence, losing the first quarter 30-17.
