Forty scarecrows have been installed across Scapegoat Hill. They've been styled as various well known fictional characters such Pinocchio, Aladdin, Mini Mouse, Rapunzel, and Mr Fredricksen from Up

These scarecrows have been dotted around the village, around the festival sites and in residents' gardens as part of the first ever Scapegoat Hill Scarecrow Festival.

Friends of Scape School (FOSS) set up the event to raise money towards a new playground at the Scapegoat Hill Junior and Infant School, which they estimate will cost an eye-watering £40,000.

The current playground hasn't been updated since 2005 and a whole revamp has been planned.

This is one of many planned events to raise money, according to a member of the parent's committee.

Festivalgoers can pick up a map for £3 and follow the trail of scarecrows across the village, answering trivia questions related to each scarecrow along the way.

The sheet also includes a section for each person entering to vote on their favourite scarecrow. The deadline for voting is 7pm today. The winning...
