Twitter says it has noticed more and more people posting images of longer messages than allowed in a single tweet, which can only be 280 characters in length

The new feature is an attempt to address that, and keep people in the Twitter ecosystem for longer.

The system is being tested by a small number of hand-picked writers, but is expected to be rolled out to all users eventually in what will be the biggest change to the way the service works since the allowed length of tweets was doubled five years ago.

INSTAGRAM AGE VERIFICATION Instagram is testing new ways to verify users' ages on the platform to ensure users' experiences are age-appropriate.

Currently you just have to tell Instagram you are over 13 and under 17 - the new system will ask for proof.

You could upload ID, allow Instagram to analyse a video selfie or get other users to vouch that you are the age you say you are.
