THE
POLICE JOURNAL
The
Editorial Department of the Bureau issues weekly
the Police Bulletin which circulates police information
throughout the country.
The
incidence of serious crime in Finland is fairly heavy.
The
population is roughly
3!
million, and murders average one
a day. These occur largely in the forest areas and are attributed
to the practice of the woodsmen of carrying knives. Most of
the cases seem to originate from drunken quarrels, and are
principally ones of stabbing.
