hoard, a verdict was returned that the coins were treasure trove.
After consulting the authorities of the British Museum the
City Council decided that the coins were not of sufficient
antiquarian value or interest for them to be retained, and the
honest finder became the richer by 40 gold and silver coins of
the reign of George
III.
