patient should then lie on his side in a warm bed
and be encouraged to sleep,
but
he must be carefully watched
for some time to ensure that breathing does not again fail.
The
resuscitation as described above may be used not
only in cases of drowning,
but
also in cases of suffocation
due to sewer gas or smoke, and in cases of electric shock,
and for these reasons everyone should know the principles
and the method of application.
