MORE over-zealous knife sharpening and culinary drama from this slightly hyper cooking contest

Emma Willis and Tom Allen host as eight celebs with varying degrees of cooking ineptitude battle for bragging rights.

Despite the familiar format, this is more raucous than other more sedate cookery shows, with its thumping soundtrack, lots of yelling and ramped-up tension.

In the meantime, a studio full of professional chefs are on hand to mentor as fellow contestants cheer from the sidelines and there's a giant frying pan gong in place for extra jeopardy.

It's all a bit drawn out, but there's a buzzy atmosphere that keeps everything moving.

Last week saw Anton du Beke pour his heart into pork chops, Joe Wilkinson brilliantly batter some fish, Josie Gibson over-cook some duck and Woody Cook over-seasoned a steak. It was poor Woody who got the boot after a cook-off with Joe.
