CORONA
THE
JOURNAL
OF
H.M.
COLONIAL
SERVICE
The Colonial Service is responsible for all branches of
the public administration
in
about
fifty
dependencies scattered
all over the world and
in
all stages
of
political and economic
development. Its activities range from the establishment
of village
councils
on
a South Sea island to the erection
of
housing estates
in
Singapore and the inauguration of cabinet
government in Nigeria. Everywhere, however, the basic
problems of administration are the same and
a
technique
being evolved in Borneo may be surprisingly helpful to a
District Commissioner in Kenya, or,
if
it
comes to that, to a
Town Clerk
in
Yorkshire. The main purpose
of
Corona
is
to
promote the exchange
of
such ideas and information, but
it
also serves
to
keep its readers,
both
in
the
Colonial
Service
and outside
it,
fully
and reliably informed, month by month,
on
all
that is happening in the colonies.
It.
is indispensable
to
anyone who is interested in current affairs and
in
public
administration. The December issue contains, among other
authoritative articles, discussions
on
matters
of
such varied
interest as the Mau Mau
in Kenya,
Community Develop-
ment
in
Uganda, Land Registration
in
the Western Pacific,
and the history of the walled
city
of
Kano in Northern Nigeria.
Corona
is published monthly by
H.M.
Stationery Office
and costs
IS.
66. plus postage
2d.,
or
20s.
a
year including
postage.
It
may be obtained from any branch
of
H.M.
Stationery Office or through any bookseller.
