One mourner estimated that around 1,000 people attended Paul Alexander's funeral held on Friday at Christ Church in Woodhouse Hill, Huddersfield

Paul, 56, was known to many as 'P''P,' was remembered as a 'legend of Brackenhall' earlier this year when friends set up a Go Fund Me page to raise money towards his funeral. More than 400 people contributed to the online fund, raising almost £7,000.

On Friday, Sean Morgan, a family friend, told the Examiner that Christ Church had been full, with many more people standing outside. He estimated that around 1,000 people had attended.

He said the funeral ceremony had been a celebration of Paul's life. Sean said that Paul had become a friend and had welcomed him when he first arrived in Huddersfield.
