And Harper produced a moment of quality which would have lit up any showpiece occasion at the National Stadium

Harper, 22, curled a 25-yard free-kick into the top corner beyond the despairing dive of Queen's Park goalkeeper Calum Ferrie to seal three massive points.

The win lifted Ferguson's charges above the Spiders and out of the relegation playoff spot with just three games remaining.

A trophy may not have been on the line - only the prize of retaining their Championship status - and Harper knows they have three more finals to achieve that.

Harper said: "Every game is like a final for us right now.

"The gaffer said that before the game it's a final and you've got a team in your division, treat it like that.

"You would take that any other day for a final, so that's all we had in our heads.

"I never really thought about scoring at Hampden until my Aunt Caroline texted me after the game.

"She was at the game and was buzzing to see me score at Hampden. It is quite a special feeling.

"I should probably score more, but I am just delighted to have got the win - it was massive.

"It was well documented how big a win would be for us.

"It was huge for us to get out of the relegation play-off position. We're delighted."

Inverness followed up their victory over Arbroath with another at Queen's Park to secure back-to-back wins in the Championship for the first time this term.

Harper reckons it is shocking it has taken them until April to achieve that, but hopes they're hitting form at the right time to avoid ninth place and nervejangling play-offs to stay in the division.

He said: "For that to be the first time we've had back-to-back wins this season is shocking.

"In my professional career, I don't remember us ever going to long without two wins. My dad texted me to say we had to win back-to-back at some point, so luckily we done that on Saturday.

"We are two points clear of Queen's Park and that was massive psychologically to get the win to move above...
