TV doctor visits clinic over Alzheimer's test

The public is being offered free screenings at Yorkshire eyecare specialist, The Body Doctor Ltd, to evaluate their risk of developing Alzheimer's disease or age-related macular degeneration, the primary cause of vision loss in older individuals

The screening event, scheduled for May 1 in Clayton West, Huddersfield, will provide each participant with expert advice and a personalised treatment plan to help prevent these lifechanging conditions.

This initiative is in celebration of the opening of The Body Doctor Eye Clinic, which was inaugurated by the Deputy Mayor of Kirklees, Clr Nosheen Dad, alongside TV medic Dr Hilary Jones, who endorses the company's popular Eye Doctor eye compresses, eyedrops and eyelid wipes.

During the screening day, the advanced LifeMeter technology will accurately and painlessly measure the concentration of carotenoid nutrients from a visitor's fingertip in less than a minute, without any skin pricks.

The presence of these nutrients in the skin is a crucial indicator of an individual's wellbeing. Those with low carotenoid levels have been found to experience more frequent eye strain and fatigue, difficulty driving at night, poor contrast sensitivity, slower visual and cognitive processing, increased susceptibility to sunburn and brain fog.

Research has also indicated that carotenoid concentrations are lower in people with mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's disease.
