Create a mood board "Before making any changes, always spend time making a mood board," advises Amy.

"Once you've explored different areas of interest and have pinned down the desired feel of Your Home, bringing it all together is the key next step.

"Your mood board can include a mix of your interests and sources of inspiration, but can also include elements from design trends you enjoy.

"You shouldn't avoid trends but look to balance these with your style to create an authentic home that meets your UNIQUE needs."

Open up your wardrobe If you typically feel more inspired by clothing than home interiors, look no further than your wardrobe.

Amy explains: "One of my favourite ways to create an authentic interior is by turning to fashion. Looking inside your wardrobe can be a really great way to understand the colours you naturally gravitate towards.

"If you feel lost when it comes to colour schemes, take a look through your clothing and you will likely notice some key themes and patterns, such as a clear nod to neutrals and pastels, or big blousy prints.

"If your wardrobe is full of bold colours and textures, it is unlikely you will feel inspired by monochromatic and minimal interior design schemes.

"The wardrobe is one of the biggest keys to your visual interests so this is always a good place to start when narrowing down your interior choices."
