Abstract
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to identify the viability of the extended Unied Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology Model 3
(UTAUT3) model among the teachers especially during COVID-19 towards the use of technology.
Design/methodology/approach An extensive primary survey has been conducted through a well-structured tool under UTAUT3 model. The
survey is conducted among 450 teachers from various institutions taken for the study. The data was collected from the Northern India. The data
analysis will be done through the SmartPLS software with application of structural equation modelling (SEM).
Findings The results are strong for educators and policy makers. It was found that performance expectancy is positively related to the behavioural
intentions among teachers. Teachers consider that usage of technology will boost their job and task performance.
Practical implications This study has a very strong implications in the eld of education in case or replacement of traditional teaching patterns
with modern one during pandemic times. It will be effective if teachers would prioritize their work. There will be more effective teaching and
learning system in future.
Originality/value The study validates the constructs of UTAUT3 model in understanding teachersbehaviour and attitude towards technology
acceptance. Furthermore, the study invites research from different viewpoint to investigate the role of UTAUT3 model in an individualsbehaviour
and attitude towards technology acceptance.

1. Introduction
In the eld of technology has driven out new and innovative
forms in academics or education services. Adoption of
electronic learning (e-learning)mode in teaching pedagogy has
transformed education world, especially where not only
students but also every human is threatened by the spread of
coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. No sector has been left
behind where disruption could not be seen in such
circumstances, and the life has become challenging due to
COVID-19 (He et al.,2021).
The biggest challenge faced by schools, colleges and
universities was to deliver high-quality education during
COVID-19 outbreak. Students, faculties and other
stakeholders of education sector were issued various notices
from Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD)
and UniversityGrants Commission (UGC) to make the studies
hassle free for students through the application of e-learning
methods and modes. In such a way, social distancing can be
maintained to ensure the securityof people as social gatherings
in educational institutions were easy means of virus
transmission (Lizcano et al., 2020;Maatuk et al.,2021).
Consequently, it was planned to continue teaching through
virtual classrooms, discussion forums, bulletins, chat, audios
and videos, information announcements, electronic mails,
auto-marked quizzes and exam etc. With this announcement,
many issues were raised concerning education scenarios in
current situation, preparation of e-learning content,
presentation platform for e-content and implementation of
information and communication technologies (ICTs) for
education services in urban and remote areas, as well (Ra
et al.,2019). Additionally, this radical change in education
sector raises many questions, such as teachersattitude towards
e-learning, their acceptance level or adoption among students
regarding e-learningmethods and platforms.
