Simon McHugh, 49, died along with Sohail Ali, 28, as he was taken home after finishing his shift as head chef at Jurys Inn, Bradford, on Monday night

The two men were hit by a Ford Transit van driven by a 15-year-old boy.

An 18-year-old man called Kyden Leadbeater, a passenger in the stolen van, which was being driven in the wrong direction, also died.

The 15-year-old driver has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

A 17-year-old boy, a passenger in the van also suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries and is recovering in hospital.

Alastair McHugh wrote of his devastation at the Huddersfield family's loss on Facebook on Tuesday and yesterday added: "I feel I must also mention the taxi driver who like my brother were guilty of nothing other than being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

"He was only 28 years old. RIP young man. I'm hoping someday to meet his family.
