We talk about Elijah all the time... My boy asks if he can play with him in heaven

Nicole Duhaney is organising a charity ball to honour the memory of baby Elijah who died at home aged just 10 months. Elijah and his twin, Emre, had both been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia

Emre, now five, started school in September and has been in remission from cancer for four -and-a-half years.

And, 16 months ago, Nicole and her partner Nile welcomed baby Abel in the world. Nicole says Abel has the same birth mark on his eyelid that Elijah had.

Emre has grown into a 'super caring and friendly' little boy and often talks about Elijah.

"We talk about him all the time," says Nicole. "Emre asks if he can go to heaven this weekend to play with Elijah. He says that he and Elijah have the same birthday."

Nicole says Elijah is never far from their thoughts, so it seemed the right time to do something special in his memory. Towards the end of the year Nicole will be hosting a charity ball to raise money for the Leedsbased children's cancer charity Candlelighters. Nicole said the charity had provided the family with incredibly valuable and helpful support when her twins were poorly.

She says Candlelighters' staff helped her and her family through some of the worst months and helped create some special moments that she treasures.
