While Tristan would go on to confess his love for bride Cassandra, it seemed it was too little, too late, as she spent week-after-week pleading for his affection. The pain ultimately made an amicable decision to leave together and stay friends -and that's exactly what they've done.

The couple's troubles stemmed from Tristan battling insecurities, and even though Cassandra tried her hardest to reassure him, the couple realised they weren't going to work out and ended up leaving the experiment.

After leaving the show, Tristan kept it short and sweet as he wrote a tribute to Cassandra on Instagram: "Waddling into the week as a divorcee but wouldn't change meeting you for the world. You're something special Cass, thank you for going on this journey with me."

While Cassandra also shared a heartfelt note on social media, saying: "Tristan where do I begin. You have made me laugh until my ribs ached and tears were coming out of my eyes! You have stood up for me and protected me whether I was in the room or not. You have shown me the depth of a man's heart and shown me emotions they are told to hide and not speak about.

"Thank you for being so vulnerable and honest every day and for taking on the feedback from the experts and not giving up. For someone so intelligent, hilarious and brilliant you really don't see how bright you are, that's okay because I'll keep telling you. It's not easy in here and what you did last night, made me respect and admire you even more."
