Swedish engineering, design, and advisory services company AFRY (STO:AFRY) announced on Thursday that it is actively supporting Malta's offshore renewable energy expansion.
The company's involvement in technical and commercial tasks aims to facilitate the establishment of operational offshore renewable energy farms in Malta in the near future.
Working in collaboration with the state-owned entity Interconnect Malta (ICM), AFRY is assisting in defining and awarding offshore renewables concessions within Malta's exclusive economic zones in the Mediterranean Sea. This process ensures a well-regulated and sustainable development of clean energy sources, addressing energy requirements, environmental considerations, economic growth, and climate change mitigation.
