Antiques Roadshow guest refuses to return painting to owner after surprise valuation

The episode, which unfolded in Boise, Idaho, featured expert Colleen Fesko and a woman who brought along an Earl Moran pin-up girl painting. The owner reminisced, "As much as I can remember, it spent 10 to 15 years at my mum's house."

She also mentioned her mother's purchase details: "She bought it at an estate sale and she paid I think around $200 for it."

The woman admitted to having long admired the artwork, sharing, "I've just remodelled my house and I made it all 1950s."

She elaborated on her persistence to acquire it from her mother: "I kept telling my mum: 'So can I have the picture now? ' so finally she gave it to me.", reports the Mirror.

Fesko then delved into Moran's history, noting his life span from 1893 to 1984 and his early career as a "white shoe illustrator". She highlighted that his success peaked mid-century in Los Angeles with his pin-up calendar art creations.

Describing the painting's charm, Fesko said, "This was probably done as an advertisement for a car company or even a sporting company because you also have the sailboat and the motorboat but its real appeal is in being a pin-up".
