Brazen West Lothian thief 'distracted salon staff as she swiped phone and cards'

The individual walked into Luna Hairdressing in Uphall, swiping Christine Pegg's mobile phone and bank cards. She claimed to be looking for hair products, though left with the device which has treasured pictures of Christine's dad on it

After speaking to other local businesses in the area, she discovered others had seen the thief with a premises on East Main Street in Whitburn also having items stolen.

The incident happened at around 12pm on Thursday, April 11. He was caught on CCTV and was dressed in jeans, a blue jumper and a baseball hat.

Christine told the Courier : "The phone case had all my bank cards so I've had to cancel them, but there were pictures on the phone that weren't backed up of my dad that are now lost.

"It all happened in seconds, I feel so silly. He went into another salon, the chiropodist and the dentist as well.
