British Gas issues new message to millions of customers about their energy bills

The price cap was reduced at the beginning of April, resulting in lower energy bills for the average household. The cap now stands at £1,690, a yearly decrease of £238

However, British Gas claims that customers could save an additional £55 by opting for its fixed tariff. They also added that households can switch for free if a cheaper tariff becomes available in the future.

The company stated: "Pick our new, cheaper fixed tariff, and save an average of £55 vs. April's price cap. Plus, if we roll out an even better-fixed tariff down the line, you can switch for free."
