Something really exciting got announced this week and I can't wait to get behind it!

No, it isn't Wayne Rooney breaking the England all-time scoring record, but it is something that's happening in October that could change the lives of young people and children right here in the North East and across the UK.

All over the country there are brilliant charities and projects that help young people affected by illness, disability or lack of opportunities and sometimes they're so small they struggle just to be heard, but that doesn't mean the help they offer or the work they do is any less important.

On October 8, the second Global's Make Some Noise day will be upon us, which is all about helping to bringing these amazing charities voices to the forefront and a raising a load of money in the process. Yep, were teaming up with other Global radio stations across the UK to raise some cash, to help charities like Tiny Lives, based at the RVI hospital in Newcastle.

Tiny lives helps those affected by babies who are born prematurely. It's only a small charity but the work it does is so very important, without which some families would never be the same. So if you want to get involved, it's simple -- raid your cupboard, attic or nana's house for the loudest piece of clothing you can find, the brighter and bolder the better.

And then wear it all day long on Thursday, October 8 and give whatever you can to Globals Make Some Noise.
