The Secretariat of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS) has
engaged large-scale changes over the last two years, both on the governance front
and in terms of delivering on its basic scientif‌ic and knowledge sharing mission.
The main objectives of the changes undertaken aim at
Streamlining IIAS operations for better eff‌iciency and effectiveness;
Developing new f‌inancial and business models around IIAS service-delivery to
ensure sustainability of the organization;
Improving the governance of IIAS through a better integration between its
entities on one hand and a better alignment between the governing entities
(IIAS, IASIA, EGPA, AGPA, LAGPA) and the Secretariat in Brussels;
Enhancing the offer of IIAS and its entities to its members;
Enhancing communication with its members through a multi-level, multi-media
and sustained communication strategy;
Organizing high-impact events in Brussels to enhance the visibility of IIAS in
the “capital of Europe” and harness its network of world-class scholars and
senior public servants;
Remaining competitive in the market niche of learned societies in public admin-
istration through a comprehensive and quality offer to its members;
Inf‌luencing the global agenda of strategic governance through intellectual con-
tributions to global debates and solution provision (SDGs for example);
Increasing and enhancing the scientif‌ic production of IIAS and its entities
through a better exploitation of scientif‌ic events like the IIAS, IASIA and
