Croydon police name and picture woman whose remains were found in New Addington field

Her family have been informed of her death and are currently being supported by specially trained family liaison officers. A 44-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman were arrested on Saturday, April 6 on suspicion of Sarah’s murder. They both remain in custody pending further enquiries

Met Police officers were alerted at 9am on Tuesday, April 2, when the first remains were discovered in the field running alongside Lodge Lane. An interactive map of Rowdown Fields showed , along with the parts that were cordoned off. The police based their operation from the car park which is accessed from Lodge Lane near the end to the roundabout linking to Kent Gate Way.

Forensic officers were at the scene on Wednesday morning April 3, as evidence markers were placed in an area near shrubs along the perimeter of the field. Police also used dogs in their efforts to comb the area on Thursday after Scotland Yard confirmed it had launched a murder investigation on Wednesday afternoon.

Proving the latest update on Monday April 8 Detective Inspector Martin Thorpe, who is leading the investigation, said: “My thoughts are with Sarah’s family as they deal with this heartbreaking news. No family should have to lose a loved one in such tragic circumstances, and we will continue to provide our support as our investigation progresses.
