Croydon tattoo artists fined for running unlicensed studios

He had been running Tales of Inkspiration without a special treatments license at either premise. Licenses ensure that the artist has proper sterilisation of tattoo equipment between customers, that tattooists are suitably trained and that the premises are cleaned to a safe and hygienic standard

He was found guilty on February 25 this year at Croydon Magistrates Court of four offences. They are two offences of failing to licence a special treatment premises and two offences for failing to provide details of ownership of the two premises.

Brown was hit with fines totalling £2,000, a victim surcharge of £800 and awarded costs of £3,949.80 against Mr Brown, making the total penalty £6,749.80.
