Airdrie set up a dedicated social media page called Airdrieonians 1924Tweets to go through the competition in'live tweets'as they lifted the famous old trophy.

There is also a centenary dinner taking place at theWesterwood Hotel in

Cumbernauld on Sunday, April 28, featuring speeches from Manchester United and Scotland legend Sir Alex Ferguson, who is guest of honour, and former grade one referee Hugh Dallas.

The evening has long since sold out.

The Diamonds started with a 2-1 win over Greenock Morton in the first round, ousted St Johnstone and Motherwell 4-0 and 5-0, respectively, in rounds two and three, to set up a quarter-final against Ayr United.
