Dame Deborah James bids emotional farewell to family as she enjoys pint with mum

The brave broadcaster took to social media to share a snap of her enjoying lunch at a pub in front of a canal, as fans flocked to Instagram to send their well wishes, as reported by the Daily Express

Deborah captioned the picture: "A lovely relaxing lunch in the sunshine." One Instagram user replied: "You really are fantastic, completely smashing stigma, not just about bowel cancer, but also end of life care. I love you."

Another added: "Sending all our love Debs. You look so gorgeous babe." And a third wrote: "Sending so much love you absolute diamond of a woman."

A fourth said: "I can't find the words of how in awe of you I am. You're an amazing woman." And a fifth concluded: "Sending lots of love to you and your lovely family."

Deborah could be seen sitting with her mother, who was sipping on a glass of wine, as she enjoyed her pint. The media woman has been letting fans know she is enjoying every day to the fullest, as she receives end-of-life care at home.

The 40-year-old was diagnosed with a severe case of bowel cancer in 2016, and has been heavily involved in charitable work to raise money for cancer research. Deborah, who has presented a BBC podcast 'You, Me and the Big C,' written a best selling book called 'F*** you cancer' and written regularly for The Sun, launched it as she said, "my rollercoaster ride is coming to an end very soon" and her "body simply isn't playing ball."
