Darren McGregor opens up on his new Hibs Development squad player/coach role

The 36-year-old will work alongside Academy Director Steve Kean and Gareth Evans as he makes steps into a mentor/coaching capacity but can still continue playing. The veteran Easter Road stopper feels it is a great opportunity for himself and he can't wait to play a key role in helping the younger generation at the club both on and off the field

McGregor was part of the legendary 2016 Scottish Cup winning team as he played the full match at Hampden at centre-back in the famous 3-2 win over his old club Rangers. He made 188 appearances in seven seasons with the club and was captain for the final match of last season, leading the team to a 4-0 win over St Johnstone.
