Disgruntled East Lothian man finds 'baby maggots' in his McDonald's chicken McNuggets

The Dunbar man, who wishes to remain anonymous, took to social media to share pictures of his 20-piece-McNuggets box that came with a nasty surprise

In the images, shared with Edinburgh Live, a small yellow and white substance can be seen on the chicken nuggets, and the McDonald's customer believes that this could be "baby maggots."

Bosses at McDonald's, meanwhile, said an investigation revealed nothing to suggest the "alleged foreign object" originated from their branch.

The box was ordered from the McDonald's restaurant at the end of Spott Road on the afternoon of Saturday June 25.

The customer expressed his horror by posting: "Bought from Dunbar McDonald's today - make sure you check your nuggets are [not] full of baby maggots."

Speaking to Edinburgh Live, the punter told how his wife only noticed there was a problem with their meal after he had taken a bite out of it.

He said: "We went to McDonald's around 2pm and got our usual order - two meals and 20 nuggets. We always take our McDonald's home to eat it - done it a million times before.
