United States-based Dominion Energy (NYSE: D) has completed installation of the two turbine, 12-megawatt Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind pilot project situated 27 miles off Virginia Beach.
The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management has approved this project. The turbines have to undergo acceptance testing before being energised later this summer and produce enough energy to power 3,000 Virginia homes.
