A drug-ravaged thug landed himself back in court - and an electronic tag for Christmas.

Christopher Bowery's storied past includes charges for assault, harassment and battery.

He even has previous for sparking a gun scare.

Now, the 33-year-old has appeared in court again - this time after being caught with cannabis.

At a hearing atNorth Tyneside Magistrates' Court, he admitted possession of a controlled Class B drug.

At one point, he even simulated smoking a spliff to a friend in the public gallery when asked what he was up for.

The ex-Kenton School pupil, fromFenham, is currently serving an 18-month community order.

The courtheard it was imposed for "domestic violence-related harassment".

Probation workers told his sentencing he had initially been "struggling to comply" with the requirements of his order due to substance issues, including cocaine abuse.
