East Lothian magnet fisherman recovers e-bike from river and reunites with owner

James Pearson, who lives in the East Lothian town, regularly partakes in magnet fishing, often taking trolleys out of the River Esk and reuniting them with their supermarket homes

But James was met with an odd request on Monday June 13 to rescue an electric bicycle from the river at Goose Green.

He was able to remove the bike from the water along with an electric grass strimmer and a traditional shopping trolley.

On recovering the bike, James said: "Basically I was contacted last Monday from someone on the Musselburgh Folks page on Facebook regarding an electric bike in the River Esk at Goose Green.

"So I headed down and managed to retrieve the bike plus an electric grass strimmer."

But his work was not finished yet, as the magnet fisherman wanted to reunite the bike with its owner.
