Edinburgh A720 city bypass section to close for 12 days as major repairs begin

The work on the A720 will focus on resurfacing the route from the Sheriffhall roundabout to Lothianburn, with the work beginning on Monday, June 20

The overnight works will be carried out by BEAR Scotland and the project is planned to run over 12 nights, including weekends.

During the work, the road will be closed between Sheriffhall Roundabout and Lothianburn Junction from 8.30pm until 6.00am each night, in order to protect workers as they perform the maintenance.

Diversions are being signposted for all westbound journeys via the A7, A772 and A772 Lasswade, which is estimated to add 12 minutes and 2.3 miles to the journeys of affected drivers.

The operation will address and repair potholes and cracks along the road
