Edinburgh Airport issues Royal Highland Show update and warns of 'delays'

The Royal Highland Show will take place at Ingliston in Edinburgh between June 23 and June 26, taking place for the first time since 2019

The airport has warned passengers that during the buildup, as well the event itself, there "may be some queueing traffic to the west of the city".

As a result, holidaymakers have been urged to leave extra time to ensure they do not miss their flights due to being held up in traffic.

Posting to Facebook, the airport said: "Royal Highland Show is on the way so roads near the airport will be busy and might be moo-ving a bit slower than usual.

"Make sure you are aware and plan ahead if driving to the airport to catch a flight in the next few weeks."

Additionally, in a statement on its website, Edinburgh Airport said: "Roads around Edinburgh Airport will be busier than usual in the coming weeks as thousands of people make their way to Ingliston for the Royal Highland Show 2022.
