Edinburgh cinemas to show documentary film exploring George Michael's life

Michael hit huge fame in the band Wham! that produced hits such as 'I'm Your Man' and 'Last Christmas.' He was equally renowned for his solo career where he released hits such as 'Faith' and 'Careless Whisper.'

The adored singer went down in music history as a great and the new documentary, George Michal Freedom Uncut, looks to tell the story of the man behind the music, the Daily Record reports.

The movie is narrated by Michael and shows archive footage captured through his life - including the unbelievable peaks and tragic lows of the troubled artist's life.

The film will last two hours and be filled with high-profile guest appearances including: Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Nile Rogers, Ricky Gervais, Mary J. Blige and Mark Ronson, while Liam Gallagher describes George as 'a modern day Elvis'.

The documentary will be aired on and after the release date of June 22 at: Everyman Edinburgh: June 22, 28; Vue Edinburgh : June 22, 25; Cineworld Edinburgh: June 22 and Odeon Edinburgh Wester Hailes: June 22, 26.
