The building, at 55 Nicolson Street, could be changed from a repair centre specialising in electrical equipment to a fast food takeaway business, although the exact type or name has not been expressed within the planning application

Interestingly, the application cites a previous proposal made in 1997, for the exact same change of use purpose. The application was granted by the City of Edinburgh Council, although the change never happened.

24 years later, the applicant has returned with a revised vision for the premises, which is sandwiched between a Halal butcher shop and a baguette/panini store.

Nicolson Street itself is a busy spot, with brands such as Lidl and KFC...
