Edinburgh dog rushed to vets after ingesting poison in popular local park

The SSPCA have issued a warning to pet owners after the poor pooch was taken for emergency medical treatment after a walk to the park on June 22

According to the animal welfare charity, the dog had been on an outing to Dovecot Park in the west of Edinburgh when it is believed to have ingested rat poison.

Pictured as small pink pellets, a pile of the substance had been left on the ground, with officials describing the incident as "very concerning" and issuing beliefs the act was deliberate.

Although the dog was able to make a full recovery, the SSPCA have urged anyone with information to contact police.
