Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2022: Where to collect tickets and how to buy them this year

The Festival Fringe is back for 2022, and President of the Fringe Society, Phoebe Waller-Bridge has vowed it will be 'more diverse' than ever. While virtual shows were a hit during 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic, TikTok has now been named as the event's virtual stage

But this year is the first time the Festival Fringe will be back in full and while the programme can be overwhelming as it overflows with thousands of shows, the official website is a good first point of call if you want to plan your trip. If there's a budget, you can see what's available as part of the Free Fringe and make most of the two-for-one deals.

Like last year, there are two types of shows you can see - 'In-person' and 'Online'. For all ticketed shows, tickets can be bought online at edfringe.com or over the phone by calling 0131 226 0000. Box Office phone lines are open every day of the Fringe from 9am - 9pm.

Even free shows will need to be booked in order for you to reserve a seat, and sometimes you'll be asked to give a donation or 'ay what you can'. This year, all tickets are e-tickets, meaning those with a smart phone will be emailed a QR code that will be scanned at the venue.
