Edinburgh horror crash on busy road leaves six people in hospital

Emergency services rushed to the scene on Queensferry Road, at the junction with Maidencraig Crescent, around 3.27am on Sunday, June 19

Two appliances were mobilised by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, with six casualties having to be freed from the wreckage with specialist cutting equipment.

All six people involved in the smash were then rushed to hospital, where their condition is currently unknown.

The busy road, in the west end of the city, is located near Craigleith and joins the A90 which leads motorists over the Queensferry Crossing

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were alerted at 3.27am on Sunday, June 19 to reports of a road traffic collision involving two cars on Queensferry Road, near the Maidencraig Crescent junction, Edinburgh.

"Operations Control mobilised two appliances to the scene.
